hehe, I edited my last post: adding one line. but its an important line, cos its makes it more personal... yep yep. yay! we got gold for syf!! so did 7 other schools, so even though it doesn't seem much of a 'gold', I'm still very happy we got that gold! lots of things are different this year as compared to two years ago. at the beginning of two years ago, our conductor was more or less confident of our performance. at the beginning of this year, he wasn't confidence, and so they had to make a lot of changes. two years ago we entered as underdogs, not much pressure there, and there were a lot of PRO players.. this year, we entered no longer as underdogs, with a lot of pressure, and very few PRo players.. but another difference is that this year, we prayed TWO times as a whole orch before the competition... i remembered two years ago we only prayed once while we were in school, but this year we said one more prayer right before we entered, no doubt that did help us a lot in our performance...

ah yes... Raphael and I went evaxing today right outside chinese high... we got two converts!! and well, they have cca so can't come on saturday (grr..) but I'm sure God would find a way through that and make it possible for them to go to church!! but today I've really learned a lot from raphael.. raphael, remember the three things you wanted to grow for chinese high? I am sure you've grown in at least two of them!! the faith in God you've shown today, as well as the enthusiasm, is something that I need to learn from... but there is a breakthrough I made today... I evaxed in chinese!!! well, kind of lah.. a china scholar came, and I first evaxed to him in english... and he accepted (though he looked a bit blur..), so I decided to evax to him again in chinese.. and he said "but i'm not christian...". so at the end he didn't accept, but that means he understood my chinese!! in the end.... some improvement points:
+improve in chinese to be more convincing... and so i won't stammer...
+(did I smile? i'm not sure...)
+don't be afraid...

I remembered I had quite a few things I wanted to blog.... lemme think...

ah, firstly was something from yesterday's qt.. I was reading Amos 4-6... yeah yeah...
it was Amos 5:18- "woe to you who long for the day of the Lord! Why do you long for the day of the Lord? That day will be darkness, not light." ok ok, before I scare people... the background (from what I understand) is that Israel has been sinning a lot, and God tried a lot of ways to try and wake them up, but Israel just wouldn't repent.. so, if Israel doesn't repent, I suppose that is why the day of the Lord will be darkness.. right. but then why then would the people long for the day of the Lord? could it be that they don't want to repent, but wants to see God? but that couldn't be, because later in the passage it says that the people gave offerings, sang songs to God.... then why doesn't God accept it?? perhaps they aren't doing it whole-heartedly... dunno.... @.@

next thing that struck me was Amos 6.. title was... Woe to the Complacent.
yes, I believe that says quite enough... complacent is people who think that they are secure, just fine.. but there is one part i don't get... "... but you do not grieve over the ruin of Joseph." just wondering who Joseph was.... is it the Joseph from saturday service that was a dreamer? or is it another Joseph..... well, that taught me to continue striving to do even better and better... because hey, the best is yet to be......

that then leads to cg404 meeting message.. hehehe. as 4/04 comes soon... I guess some of us maybe verge on giving up, there might be so many international schools, that how could it be possible to talk to all these foreigners??? (i must admit: i got very discouraged when a lot of people from the school I'm pioneering has cca on saturday...) or there are just so many schools that, getting one from each school is hard enough... or perhaps the schools are in so ulu places that taking the transport there would take half a day, irregarding the time needed to evax and then reach home before being scolded by parents... but I believe in modern day miracles. but God needs willing servants to have faith and work for Him, if Peter didn't trust Jesus he wouldn't have walked on water.. if you have faith as small as a mustard seed (very small..), you can tell a mulberry tree to uproot itself and plant it near waters, and it will do so... (Luke 17:6). I won't be surprised if right now God is actually waiting for willing servants to work miracles in Singapore.. one of them might just be cg404!

next next... ohyes, tomorrow is my syf competition... all you string orchestra players out there, all the best!! (although it is a bit late to send this blog at this time), I just hope we would just do our best and make the best music we can... doesn't matter what the rest play... because the good thing about this competition is that there is no position, so I just want to make the best music I can tomorrow....
