copied that whole lot from the book, but i didn't read the whole chapter so i don't know certain implications/limitations of it. although i did read something like messy tables can also be characteristic of perfectionists too cos they still know where everything is and they just think that if their table is to be neat it needs to be PERFECTLY neat and so they just don't bother cleaning up. hmmmmms.
