haha. actually the whole idea of this post is very simple and personal. but there's a few things to clarify beforehand. anyways everything here is a mix of wiki and my own thoughts. (that's a disclaimer to the accuracy of the information in this post).
ahh. temperaments. that is: choleric melancholic phlegmatic and sanguine.
generally speaking,
cholerics have lots of energy, ambition, drive. easily angered, bad tempers.
melancholics are thoughtful ponderers. creative, or depressed. perfectionists.
phlegmatics are self-content, kind, calm, unemotional. lazy, resistant to change.
sanguines are optimistic, cheerful, confident, fun-loving. daydreamy, impulsive.
now. first of all. there are other ways to describe a person's personality. that is... using the DISC thingy. or the one which ends up with four letters of E/I, S/N, T/F, P/J. so like ENTJ or ISFP or ENFP, ISTP. that kinda thing. but i think people like to use the temperaments cos it sounds cooler. big words yknow? yep. so. another way is to describe people using the temperaments in 3 different aspects. inclusion (how much attention you want from others/ how much others are included in your life) control (how much influence and responsiblity you need/ how much you want others to establish systems and lead) affection (how intimate you are with others/ how deep you want relationships to go). so a person becomes mel-sang-cho or phleg-mel-sang or phleg-mel-cho. i didn't think much into this so i'm not entirely sure how it works.
BUT THE WHOLE IDEA is that everyone is a mix of all different temperaments. and in the very first place, you are described by these personality traits. these personality traits do not restrict/stereotype you. kapiche?
but that's not the idea of this post. wahahaha. another view point for the temperaments is this:
relationship-oriented
sanguine
introvert ---------------+--------------- extrovert
melancholic choleric
task-oriented
realised that one quadrant is blank? its not for phlegs. cos phlegs aren't as extroverted as sangs nor as introverted as mels. not as relational as sangs nor as task oriented as chos. apparently there's a 5th temperament, supine. describing people who think their only value is in serving others. so where do the phlegs belong?
aah. finally. this is the point. cos its the self-discovery part.
once, phlegs are described as the absence of temperament (HOW COOL IS THAT). but its more like a moderate temperament (not so cool) or by definition, ambiverted- being capable of interaction with people, but overall, can "take them or leave them". another interesting idea is that phlegs have "low energy reserves" which causes sluggishness, indifference, blah bla blah and like to "take the path of least resistance" to protect their low energy. (and SLEEP more to recharge!!)
just thought that it described me well. and explained the reasons too. notenotenote that i did not say "oooooh since i'm like that i can/should act this way more often."
well. i think i can change to be a better person. i'm not comfortable/satisfied with myself being like this. so to end...
ITS MORPHIN' TIME.

Oh my gosh! i just realize the square thing is the comments and i only saw the square link in this post. Its so !(@*&*(!#$^!&*#^ small! just wanted to tell you thats your post are very very ......-> interesting would be an understatment, inspiring would be too common, encouraging would be too model-answer.
My vocab lacks a better word to describle, but all i can say is that i always faithfully check your blog frequently awaiting for the next blue moon posting from you. Don't stop. =)
your color coding is deceptive. red should be choleric because THEY ARE MEAN PEOPLE and yellow should be sanguine because they are happy happy ^^.
ok back to work on symmetry adapted linear combinations of orbitals...
hey harry it was enjoyable reading you post! having to anticipate what really is the point of the post..haha and im glad you're shared about yourself! and do share more! because there are more people out there wanting to know more about you than you would think.
thank you for taking the courage to reveal the weaker side of you. =)
zachary: woah. thanks man.
TEE: ayeee blame shakespeare. cholera was related to bile and yellow. sanguine linked to blood and red. *shrugs*
